| Dear Friends and Students of Bhante: The friends of Bhante Wimala from around the world, and the countless people who have been uplifted by his Compassion in Action programs, are proud to announce a Special Celebration to Honor Venerable Bhante Y. Wimala in his appointment as the Chief Sangha Nayaka to the United States, Czech Republic and Kenya, and his designation as recipient of the prestigious Peace Ambassador “Samadutha” Award. This special ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 30, at Wainwright House in Rye, New York from 3:00PM – 6:00PM followed by a vegetarian buffet dinner. There will also be a fantastic evening concert Saturday night, and Meditation and Dharma discussion with Bhante Sunday morning also at Wainwright House. If you are able to come and share this special time honoring Bhante Wimala, information on room arrangements will be sent to you. If you cannot join us for this event, we ask that you send your congratulations and something about how this special monk has influenced your life to be read that afternoon and given to Bhante.
