This past September,
I traveled to Kenya in support of
our humanitarian projects there. I visited several
schools and hospitals to supervise our ongoing
projects and to donate some much-needed items. I am
happy to report that the Triple Gem Society has
donated ten more wheelchairs to some people who,
having never had a wheelchair their entire lives, have
really benefited from these new tools. This is yet
another wonderful accomplishment of our wheelchair
program, which to date has donated 285 wheelchairs.
During my stay in Kenya, I was also able to donate an
examination table to the maternity ward of the O’Kalau
district hospital. Fifteen to twenty babies are born
in the O’Kalau hospital every day but, until my visit,
they did not have an examination table in the
ward. A request for help was made by the doctors and
nurses through their Member of Parliament, the Hon.
Muriyoki. It was a wonderful experience for me to be
able to witness the celebration as we donated the
examination table and also a blood pressure machine on
the 29th of September.
We continue to help needy and underprivileged women,
children and babies with such small acts of
compassion. I hope that you also will be able to make
a difference in somebody’s life with a small act
of
compassion.
