Meditation For All Levels
Bhante Wimala
6:30-9:30pm
An Evening Workshop
For the past 2,500 years, Buddhist
meditation has been used as a tool for character
transformation and spiritual awakening-or simply
to cultivate inner peace and clarity. We meditate
to see the beauty of life and to find meaningful
fulfillment in it through the practice of self-reflection
and introspective awareness. This evening, the
world-renowned Buddhist monk and teacher, Bhante
Wimala, will discuss how this ancient wisdom can
help us in today's busy world and will share with
us his simple, practical approach to spiritual
practice, and end the evening with a guided meditation.

Lessons of the Lotus
Tools for Awakening
Bhante Wimala
10:15-5:45pm
A One-Day Workshop
A lotus is a symbol of the spiritual essence within
every human being. As the lotus blossoms, it stays
untouched by the murky water, reminding us that
if we can awaken our hearts we will also stay untouched
by the ills of the world, and we will be able to
purify our minds, transform our character and awaken
to the beauty and meaning of life. Today, Bhante
Wimala will share some practical spiritual teachings
for discovering and celebrating the lotus within
each of us. He will emphasize ways that we can
begin to invite the teachings into our own daily
lives and offer us guidance on the use of meditation
and other Buddhist tools for self-reflection, awareness
and awakening. Our time together will also include
dialogue and guided meditations.

Buddhist teaching
of Karma
Bhante Wimala , "The philosophy of Karma
teaches us the importance of
evey thought and action in our day to day living
and how it shapes the
quolity of our life. It teaches us the cause and
effect relationship of
our thoughts, words and actions. The teaching of
Karma help us to
understand the nature of the energy that shapes
the unfolding moments of
life and how the past, present and future of each
individual is linked
through unseen forces of our psychic energy. As
you understand Karma you
will understand the course and the source of your
own happiness and
unhappiness, joy and suffering. This understanding
will greatly help you
in creating a happy and meaningful life."
