HEALTH CARE AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

Through my health care contacts, we are constantly assessing the needs of hospitals and clinics in order to provide the most useful medical equipment and instruments.

On Monday the 7th of february we donated a heart monitor and essential medicines to Kalmnai hospital. The heart monitor if brand new will be worth about US $12,000. 00. We are greatful to Connelia Santschi who made arrangmats to obtain the Monitor form the USA. We are corrently preparing some other medical equpment to be donated to hospitals in costal reagions.

Kalmunai hospital is the one you might have heard of a baby who was claimed by eight mothers. The news was on CNN, finally they had to do a blood test to determine who is the rightful mother. And also this hospital has collected over five hundred bodies after the tsunami and continues to need more help.

We will continue to visit hospitals and look for their needs in devastated regions. Once the medical director of Kalmunai hospital informed us that eye infections and ear infections were spreading and respiratory illnesses are beginning to appear in large numbers in Kalmunai area these days. He requested us to help with essential medicines for such health problems.

Triple Gem Camp also reported the spread of eye infections and we directed a doctor to the camp. We prepared many boxes of medicine and transported them to Kalmunai hospital and the refugee camp on Monday.

As government dry rations are not enough to meet the desperate need, we are trying to set up a program to provide a nutritional meal powder supplement to the affected children on an ongoing basis.
